Power Designers USA LLC is power electronics firm specializing in developing new and innovative battery charger technologies for the forklift and motive industry. Power Designers (PD) is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent communication, organizational, and personnel skills to fill the position of Application Engineer.
The Application Engineer will work in conjunction with Sales & Marketing to assure the correct application, installation, and usage of Power Designers products. They will acts as the primary liaison between Power Designers engineering and end customers
Responsibilities and duties include:
- Analyzes battery data gathered by PowerTrac and other battery data recorders to determine battery usage information and to provide recommendations on charger and battery application and usage.*
- Interfaces with Sales staff and in some cases customers to verify correct product setup prior to shipment.*
- Travels to customer sites to assess installation options and/or to perform or assist in the installation of PD products.*
- Performs training on PD products.*
- Assists Engineering with customized installations and provides customer support for customized applications.*
- Writes or assists in the writing of User manuals, application notes, and sales proposals.
- Maintains current knowledge of industry status and trends.
- Responsible for the quoting of installations.
- Assists marketing with analysis of new markets and applications.
- Other duties as assigned
Assist the PD Service department with identifying, hiring, and supervising of individuals or organizations to assist with the installation of PD products at customer sites. Qualifications:

Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables. Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and Visual Source Safe Explorer, and familiarity with basic mechanical drafting and solid modeling using SolidWorks. Education/Experience:
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering with 3 years of experience in customer support of an OEM product.
An Associate Degree in Electronics or Electro-Mechanics with 7 years of experience in customer support of an OEM product. Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
- Excellent customer service skills

- Good written and oral communication skills
- Excellent time management skills.
- Valid Driver’s License required.

The footing during installations is occasionally cluttered.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
